Trujillo
Trujillo, one of Spain's medieval jewels, has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and is a historical heritage site. Its historical ensemble includes palaces, monuments and buildings of Roman, Visigoth, Muslim, Jewish and Christian style.
The Trujillo National Cheese Fair, which is held in May every year, is one of the most important cheese fairs in Spain, with its own designations of origin such as Sierra de Ibores.
Cáceres
Cáceres has one of the most complete historical-artistic centres in Europe, declared a World Heritage Site, and is considered one of the most important medieval and Renaissance sites in the world.
The recently opened "Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Helga de Alvear", where part of the exhibition is on display. which exhibits part of the collection of the gallery owner Helga de Alvear and brings together the most complete private collection of contemporary art in Europe, is one of the new tourist attractions in this fascinating medieval city.
Monfragüe
Our house is located in one of the most biodiverse areas in Europe, with up to 337 species of birds, making it a paradise for ornithologists and nature lovers.
Its proximity to the Monfragüe National Park makes Casa el Zorzal an excellent starting point for this type of experience in the heart of nature. Monfragüe has the largest extension of Mediterranean scrubland in the world, and in its interior there are countless rocky areas, holm oak groves, reservoirs and streams that are the natural habitat of species such as the griffon vulture, black stork or imperial eagle.
Mérida
Mérida is the Roman city with one of the most important heritages in the world.
It's theatre, amphitheatre and circus are perpetual vestiges of the Roman period. The wonderful National Museum of Roman Art, designed by the architect Rafael Moneo, houses more than 36,000 archaeological pieces from the Roman period such as mosaics, sculptures and treasures from the Roman Empire.
The Mérida International Classical Theatre Festival is the oldest classical theatre festival in Spain and is considered the most important of its kind.
Guadalupe
Declared a Historic-Artistic Site and World Heritage Site in 1993, the Royal Monastery of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has witnessed decisive moments in the history of Spain, such as the audience in which the Catholic Monarchs offered the caravels to Columbus.
A stroll through the beautiful streets of Guadalupe shows the typical mountain architecture with its balconies and arcades that take the visitor to some of its most charming corners such as the Plaza de Santa María de Guadalupe, the Colegio de Infantes, the Baroque Church of the Holy Trinity, as well as the five medieval arches that are distributed along its two walls.

Extremadura has become one of the best astro-tourism destinations in the world as it has one of the best skies in Spain. Its low cloudiness, together with its climate, allows us to observe the starry skies for a large part of the year.
Astrotourists from all over the world have found in the Extremadura sky another reason to stay in this unique and diverse region, which delights the senses.
